Laughing is good for the soul and healing to the body. Laugh more because neither one of them called 911. They were not going to call (except each other names like "serves you right you cheating bastard". It was a neighbor who called 911 and blew the whistle, so to speak, on him. They were going to go back into the house and brood over it some more. Her, to try and figure how to end it and what she was going to do with all that money. And him, what excuse he could make to get out of the tournament and save face, well, that is save having his face seen.

If he had told ANY story that was even remotely plausible--like, "Oh, we ran out of tylenol and the baby had a fever"--this all would have died down. His victim-of-the-paparazzi routine is just confirming suspicions.
