So apparently sometime yesterday Sydney ate a set of headphones, cord and all.  Just found the ear-bud portion in her most recent... leavings, and found a tiny piece of cord in the bedroom.  So she ate the whole fucking thing.  She has an appointment at 4 to get X-rays to make sure she doesn't need the cord isn't tangled in her intestine, else she ( Read more... )

Dr. Young's first words upon seeing Syd:

"Are you TRYING to drive your mama crazy?"

Sometimes I suspect she IS.

*clings* I hope to God that she doesn't need surgery either. Lil'Bit did this to us last year with a sewing needle, and I was in hysterics nearly. Oh, I hope she doesn't need it either.

Two x-rays and one dose of magical barf-o-rama injection and, yes, everything is going to be okay.

My nerves are shot, but other than that... ;)

The vet took a couple of x-rays, and found that most of everything was still in her stomach, so he induced vomiting. There are small bits of things down in her intestines, but he's confident she'll pass those no problem. So... it looks like everything's gonna be okay! (Aside from the fact that Sydney is going to be pooping out bits of wire for the next couple days....)

I'm at the clinic right now. She's in getting x-rayed, so we'll know something before much longer.

And I say again: Dammit, Sydney!

(She has also finally reached the point where she weighs less than 50 lbs which would be exciting news under ordinary circumstances...)

Most of the cord, along with the plug, was in her stomach still, so the vet took her back and gave her a shot of something I cannot even begin to pronounce or spell, but that certainly did the job of... eliminating the problem, so to speak. :)
