Ever since paranoiascreams woke me to the reality that petitions will only bring JRock within the mainstream radar and thus COMPLETELY RUIN IT, whenever I see petitions for JRock bands to perform in the Philippines, I die a little inside. Call me elitist, but fuck it, JRock is the only happiness I have and the "jologs" will not take it away from me. They did it ( Read more... )

fuck you, sowhut, hate

honey, they're not gonna earn more if they get mainstreamed here. you don't live in the philippines and you don't know that when i say "mainstreamed" it means "getting your cds pirated everywhere". i live in a third world country where most people don't bother spending money on expensive original cds. also, i didn't say that i don't want them to get recognition. i DO. but i don't want them to be recognized for their looks first, that's why i said this: I'd rather not see a single JRock band live in my entire life than have kids worship the artists not for their music but because it's a fucking fad.and about lives, i'm not saying don't go to ANY of their lives. hell, i'm saving up money to go to japan to see all the lives that i can. my point is i don't want them to just become a trend where people only like them because they look different, and then pretending to get into their music when in reality, it's just about being "in ( ... )

Exactly what I had in mind. They don't deserve to get mainstreamed here because we're too fucking poor to buy their stuff so in the end, they won't really get anything.

Fame? Okay. Probably not for what they do but for what they look like.

I've seen emo get mainstreamed and it fucking sucks because i loved emo before it was "cool" to like emo (here, at least) so when these kids started dressing up in emo garb while in fact all they listen to is simple plan or avril lavigne, i couldn't listen to emo anymore.

And I don't want that to happen to Jrock. Not in a million years.

Well you'd know whats it like in philippines i suppose...I don't...I'd be very proud of any band that can make it to canada....( which is weird..since were next door to the u.s. but nope..nothing.) the only wrong thing about my argument was that...i'm speaking from a perspective of a person living in north american...MIND you even here jrock could be a fad..like emo..cause that was a fad too..but even so in north america this would be to the bands advantage. but i get what you mean tho =.=; sorry.
but yanno for every person who does things to be cool there are also people who appreciate the actual work. it would be nice to find all those people and show them what they are missing so to speak. i didn't mean to come off angry or whatever ( tho i probably sounded it) but i get really peeved when music becomes possessions and such...i mean if japan kept it all to themselves i think we would all probably have never even spoke to each other right? the good and the bad to all things? ;)
