The extra time got me thinking. We as humans are not static. We are malleable. To a degree we adapt and change to our situation. I was reading a slate article the other day that talked about poverties effect on the brain and decision making (higher stress levels, reduced attention span, and less impulse control). I enjoyed this insight. I too have often wondered if I'm just being what people want me to be. It was never on purpose, but I know I used to just adapt myself situationally a lot, and that does indeed make it hard to have genuine relationships. Funny, because I was always a very genuine person, but just sharing only pieces of myself with each person... the parts I thought they "wanted" to see.

I'm glad you can see what a positive effect KD has had on you! You don't often mention such things, and it's very nice to read it. :)
