[Alerted by the sounds of sirens, Dug had sped down from his dorm and into the entrance hall of Joe West Hall. He's looking around, warily, low growls emanating from his throat, intermingled with the occasional whimper. He knows he must not leave the hall, but he's worried. People are missing and he feels helpless. He wants to help.]... I wish I ( Read more... )

[He'd been told that it was Academy procedure, that such rules were in place for good reason. But to stand by and do nothing felt wrong to Woody, especially when there were students missing. The Academy had no right to turn its back on them. The danger that accompanied the Mists presence should have given them even more incentive to find those who'd gone missing; it was their job to insure the safety of both students and staff. To give up on them and hope for the best was outrageous. It sentenced the pair to a fate they did not deserve ( ... )

[Dug's sensitive state allowed him to immediately sense when someone was approaching - he was, quite literally, in a state of constant alert, after all. He turned around and spotted the potted plant from which the noise came from. Sniffing the air a little, Dug wandered over and peered behind the potted plant]

Hi there. I know you.

[Woody gave a cry of surprise, having not expected to be spotted so easily. He'd been so sure he hadn't been followed maybe overconfidence had left him blind. The cowboy stumbled back a few steps, arms flailing to regain balance but met no such fortune. Instead, he tumbled to the floor where he quickly sat up and looked for the source of the voice he had heard. Finding none, Woody's eyes fell on the dog before him. From what he could tell they seemed friendly. The cowboy smiled and held out his hand to show the dog he meant no harm.]

Well hey there, boy. What are you doing here?

[Dug sniffed at Woody's hand with interest and nodded]

You helped me carry those acorns. Boy, I do not like eating the acorns usually but when I was a squirrel they sure were delicious! What are you? Are you a small human? You do not smell like a human. I like you. Can we be friends?

[Hi, fellow worrier. Kronk tries to believe in the Mouse In Chief, but it's easier said than done, y'know? So he's tiptoing down the hallway, trying to look inconspicuous.

Humming his own themesong. Boss-like.

And totally not tripping over Dug on his way to the door to the other end of this particular corridor in Joe West!

At all.

Ow.]

[Aw, poor Dug. Here, Kronk, feel bad when you see his crippled form lying splayed across the floor]

Oh boy, that hurt very much.

[He looks up at the man for a few moments before his eyes show some recognition.]

I know you, oh yes, I do!

[Kronk lets out a small groan and rubs the back of his head as he manages to lift his head, then ''gahs' when the furry little guy moves.]

S'OK, little guy - I'm gonna be okay...

Oh yeah! You're the talking dog. Whatcha doing out so late, fella?

I am very sad. Oh boy, I want to help find the missing students but I have been told that I have to stay inside.

[Sad Doggy is SAD]

I am very good at tracking but I am not allowed outside..

[How useful of a guard dog are you, Dug?

Let's find out.

The air begins to turn icy, the lights flickering even though the power down the hallway seems perfectly fine.

It passes by the old windows outside; it's impossible to tell if it's looking inside or of it's looking at it's target: the front door.

Needless to say, it's coming.

Think fast.]

[Dug immediately senses that something isn't right. His fur starts to bristle under the cold air as he emits a low growl. He can sense that something is coming and that they are outside, coming to the front door.

He backs up a little, his eyes trained intently on the door.]

Who is out there? Oh boy.. Oh boy..

[His ears flatten as the gravity of the situation hits him; the hall is being threatened. He lets out a loud growl, trying to warn whoever, or whatever, it is out there to stay away.]
