I need a vacation. Just as many of you are leaving school to go to your jobs and families at home, I too need a change of pace. However, there are some limiting factors. My vacation must be very cheap, very fun, very relaxing, and very within driving distance. My ideal vacation is thus: I'd love to get a nice little rustic cabin - a wood ( Read more... )

i'm thinking adirondacks or catskills, but wanna make sure it's the coolest place ever - i'm too much of a perfectionist when it comes to vacation (sure proof that i need one)

I'm pretty sure this is just about every town in Southern Vermont.

i would suggest maine, or new hampshire. There's plenty of woodland/state parks, which would fit the cabin and fire bit since it will still be chilly. There are plenty of nice little towns so i'm sure there'd be an organic food store. You could go hiking or mountain biking, perhaps even whale watching? Whale watching may sound silly but it is actually a lot of fun and educational. May I suggest these two websites http://maineguide.com

I know the perfect place, but you'll have to watch a dog and two cats while the owners are away.

where will they be? and - if they are in their new house, i think i'd definitely take them up on it.

They will be at Sesame Place and Avalon. Not sure about exact dates yet!
Your vacation will include a 5 bedroom farmhouse on 4.5 acres in the Amish countryside, easy access to town, hiking, kayaking(kayak available!) biking and sightseeing.

sounds excellent. really - better than any vacation I could have hoped for. i don't like to vacation without our cats, so it is nice that cats are provided.

hopefully it is not the week of July 10-16, cause I'll be at VA Beach with the Mitchell clan.

is patsy going to be there? maybe she'll have chilled out by that point - the new house may be like a sanatorium for her
