Age: Physically 14; mentally ~30. … he’s somewhere between 29 and 35 depending on manga/movie/anime timelines. I think he’s 32 at the end of anime canon?
Height: 175cm?
Weight: idk, average?
Medical Info: Possesses the “Mu” gene for psychic abilities. Has been a teenager for half his life. Otherwise, really, really normal.
Eyes: Green.
Hair: Blond.
Physical traits: Looks like an escapee from “He-Man Meets the Jetsons.”
DESPITE THE ICONS, JOMY IS /NOT/ WEARING BIG WHITE HEADPHONES.
What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: Anything.
Abilities: Hahahahaha. Okay. Jomy is a “Code Blue,” the second-born of the nine strongest Mu ever. To place his POWER LEVELS, one Code Blue can block a Death Star laser for a little bit; all nine of them can block one until it’s done firing. Jomy can “stop a heart without lifting a finger” etc etc etc. As much for my own reference as anyone else’s, here’s a run-down of his powers:
- Telepathy: mind reading (general ideas passively, full-on thought-reading with physical contact or some conscious effort), projecting thoughts and illusions (can make an entire space station start reliving childhood memories, project the feeling/illusion of drowning, project himself). Shielding against Jomy is possible.
- Telekinesis: rocks? Fighter jets? You make it, Code Blues can throw it around.
- Teleportation: seems to have a set range, though.
- Psionic blasts or psychic lasers: sheer energy ripping things apart! Tony can wipe out whole fleets with his mind when he’s pissed. Jomy blows up ships he’s ON when he’s shocked enough.
- Psionic shields: unbreakable by bullets and whatnot! Unless Jomy isn’t paying attention in which case, yeah. Maiming imminent.
- Can fly faster than a missile. I guess he can also move really fast, too - Matsuka, who seems to be an average-to-high-class Mu, can jump in front of a guy, grab three moving bullets, and jump back into place before anyone notices.
- Breathing in space.
- Elemental control: IIRC, Jomy’s never seen doing this, but Blue and Team Nazca do. He walks through a firestorm in the movie, though.
- Projections of himself in “spirit form”: these projections are affected by psychic attacks. The spirit form is unaffected by, say, rocks flying through it, but can also choose to interact with the physical environment (ie Blue picking up Jomy and flying around Terras No. 5) and toss out psychic attacks.
- Entering dreams: … though he pretty much gets pwn’d by Shiroe when he tries.
- Just. Ramming into things. I swear, in the manga or the movie they’re like “how the fuck does he smash through walls” and the conclusion is that he turns his skin into re-enforced plastic. This is the dumbest thing I heard in the whole franchise, and this is a franchise that took, like, five minutes for a random harvest festival in the movie. Also, wangs. Anyway, Jomy sometimes just smashes into things and they break.
- Broadcasting audio-visual signals…? He can telepathically broadcast to computers and make them display stuff. Well, he can in the manga. And the drama CDs. WE ARE BROADCASTING THIS INTO YOUR BRAAAAAAAIN.
- Can energy-leech or borrow power from other (willing) psychics.
In short, Jomy is a HILARIOUS godmode because not much can touch him and he can dish out killer damage. There are, however, important exceptions: backstabbing computers and distractions! Jomy can’t read a machine’s mind, which is how he takes a sword to the gut from behind in the last episode. He can also get beat up by distractions, like “Come here Jomy and let me give you a hug - OH WAIT I’M GOING TO KNIFE YOU IN THE BACK.” And he can be electrocuted.
A note for things-that-block-psychic-powers: there are people who can block Jomy. They are born in tubes or have rad training. Having a machine-like mind also helps. Also psychics can block him, too, since Karina blocks him from feeling HOLY SHIT MY LABOR PAINS for a while.
Notes for the Psychics: Weeeeeeeell, Jomy is an incredibly powerful psychic, but his shielding is patchy. When he’s completely focused on his thoughts, he’s 100% uncrackable… but a lot of times it’s exactly the opposite and he broadcasts like hell. That happens a lot! When he’s sad or angry or happy, he’s like a giant psychic radio tower, and his entire ship full of psychics feel it - hell, he projects across miles and miles, defying standard “telepathy ranges” of all sorts. So even if your character is a super-weak psychic, he or she will get a strong feeling of Jomy’s emotional bursts.
Ah, this also leads to to a… general sort of warmth that Jomy exudes when he’s happy. This happiness will be frequent because he’s fulfilled, like, Blue’s last directive: to take the Mu to Earth. Being around happy Jomy is, as one of the Mu describes it, like a big warm psychic hug. You can get a psychic high off Jomy.
Also, if you’re looking at his life force or energy or something, uh, his power is bright blue.
Also also, I think the Mu can recognize other psychics? Like, Tony and Matsuka pass each other in a hallway and they’re like “YOU’RE MU!” and lulz ensue. And like Jomy is all “I will zone the fuck out and spy on people psychically HOLY CRAP MY SPIRIT HAS SOMEHOW WANDERED TO ANOTHER PSYCHIC!!1!” idk. Terra e is totally rad.
Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: Ask ask yes yes..
Maim/Murder/Death: Talk to me.
Cooking: EW. WHY DID RAW TOMATOES SEEM LIKE A GOOD THING TO EAT, JOMY?
Random Note: Anime vs. manga vs. movie: I’m playing anime canon because I prefer the anime. Also, it makes Blue more appable. I’m ignoring the movie completely because it’s only good for gratuitous animated wangs, but pulling out bits of the manga that work with the anime (ie no deaf/blind/mute Jomy, yes “Leo getting a psychic high off Jomy”). If I have a potential castmate who is DEAD SET on apping primarily manga canon (especially someone is looking to app Keith or Blue)… then we will talk!
