Exporting Icons

Has anyone discovered a way to export all their icons easily? I've tried Downthemall but that only works if all the filenames are different. LJ uses the same filenames and I can't figure out how to grab them without it going all nuts. This is all way of saying I miss all my icon slots. *sighs*

Not sure if it's exactly what you're trying to accomplish, but would this work for you?

Go to the page that displays all of your icons, and choose "save as > web page, complete". That will download both the page and its images to your computer. You'll get the page as an HTML document, but more importantly, a folder containing all of the icons (plus some other LJ detritus you should easily be able to delete). I just checked, and this works with both IE and Firefox.

YES! That does exactly what I needed to do. I just wanted all my icons, so I could be sure I had copies before I had to weed out some. Thank you so much for that idea.

Yay! Glad it worked for you!

Oh, and FYI: at least with the IE version, deleting the HTML page sent the image folder to my recycle bin as well. However, I was able to cut/paste the folder by itself from the bin back to my files.

Thanks for that warning. It did exactly that when I went to delete the file. Fortunately I was able to get it back.
