I've been thinking about election strategy, a bit OK I'm not involved in party politics.  But, I've wondered why when electing several councillors from the same ward parties that have a very marginal chance put up multiple candidates and split their vote.  Take the case of my ward (Coleridge where in addition to our usual election we had a by-
