NEW ORLEANS (Aug. 28) - Monstrous Hurricane Katrina barreled toward the Big Easy on Sunday with 175-mph wind and a threat of a 28-foot storm surge, forcing a mandatory evacuation, a last-ditch Superdome shelter and prayers for those left to face the doomsday scenario this below-sea-level city has long dreaded.

They're steadily flowing into Shreveport, which is currently sunny. The cities south of here along I-49 are getting more evacuees than Shreveport, so far, but they're expecting much more to continue north.

Scary, scary stuff.
