A lot of people I know (including me) had journals that were public to start with, but as time progressed their entries got more personal and so they made their journals friends-only.

Don't worry about the stalling. It happens to the best of people. Tonight my Mum ran up a gutter and we got dirty looks from a pedestrian because of what happened, and she's been driving for about 25 years, hahahaha.
