I hate having to write cover letters. Mostly because I'm terrible at them.

I don't quite get what's so difficult about them. Introduction of yourself and the position you are applying for, middle section talking about why you are worth having coming to interview based upon the requirements in the advertisement, concluding statement reinforcing the high points, and your contact info.

Nothing to scary there, is there?

For me, that's a lot like saying writing a novel is easy, you just introduce the characters, have something happen to them, give them a problem to resolve, and resolve the problem.

If you've the cash...I do believe that there are professional resume/cover letter writers...

I've heard about them, but I hear they're pretty expensive.

And, if I knew what to say to a professional to make it worth spending the money on, I probably wouldn't be having this much trouble anyways.
