Air Circulation. anonymous October 5 2005, 10:10:04 UTC
No matter what the causes of the insomnia were, the most important remediation is air circulation. That is whether there are enough oxygen when you are in bed and even during daytime at your office. If your office have enough fresh air, it is unlikely you will fall asleep. If there is enough oxygen when you are in bed whether falling asleep or not will provide you with enough rest to ake you healthy. When you are hungry, you cannot sleep. Your diets have a lot to do with your sleep. Drinking soda, regular fat milk, Eating icecream, candies, ... nuitritious food and drink will all help you sleep. The key is not to eat to much the food you don't like, BUT NOT TO SKIP THEM COMPLETELY. When you are too selective on food and not getting all the require nuitriion, it will cause insomnia or make you fal asleep during the day. Stop thinking about bad and unpleasant thing while you sleep. I have trop fish aquarium, if I think about and visualizing those fish swimming and multipling in large number, it makes me fall asleep very easily ( ... )

(3) Don't take strong stuff as caffeine or nicotine before sleep.
(4) Drink milk or eat banana before sleep. They have chemical inside that will help.

Mental but not physical fatigue sidsavara October 5 2005, 22:19:12 UTC
This may not be related, but I had similar problems falling asleep for a while. What I finally decided was the problem was that because of work/school/etc I hadn't been working out. I wasn't motivated to lift/run/etc because I was so mentally drained, but I couldn't sleep because my body wasn't fatigued at all. I started forcing myself to workout regularly again and I was fine.

Of course, the root cause and actual reason I could sleep could be any number of reasons (stress etc) but the running and lifting is what fixed it.

That's actually a good point. I haven't worked out at all since getting back to Seattle, and I keep thinking, oh but I'm too stressed and busy to go. Bah.
