The rock opera opens tomorrow! We had a dress rehearsal tonight. The goth-ish make-up on the band was pretty cool, and the lighting was good. It's going to be really interesting to see how people respond to it. Most people seem to be thrown off by the word 'opera' in the description, so I have a feeling we'll get a couple of older people there that might leave as soon as one of the singers starts screaming into the mic! ^_^ Yeah...but because of the opera, I'm behind on all of my homework. I skipped class yesterday and today to try and do some of it. =( I have to write a paper for Monday, which wouldn't be too bad if I didn't still have two more books to read for it. Ugh. I'm writing on African-American stage and film actors in the late 19th/early 20th centuries. Since your entry was a quote, I thought I'd add a couple that I found while doing some of my research, both from Sidney Poitier ( ... )

So...student showcase opens this week, and I did the sound design for one of the shows. The sound design for the overall showcase was a real mess in itself. Anyway, tech went alright on Sunday and today was the dress rehearsal and it was a real shitfest. The first two cues were missed, the second two were cut out because of bad timing, most of the rest came in late or cut out early. I think the director was kind of pissified at me for it, even though I'm not calling the cues or running the board--I just did the design. Anyway, there was one good part of tonight ( ... )

So I just got back from the theatre party. I had quite a bit to drink. I had a long talk with this girl named Sara. She's a lesbian. She thinks I'm one, too. Anyway, I'll have to tell you about it later or something. Oh yeah..I'm going back home Tuesday, so I'm not sure how often I'll be around this summer. Uhm...yeah...that was totally a change of subject. o.O Well, see ya. E-mail me sometime.
