09 drama.
2009 drama. I'm just gonna write about dramas that I had watch in 2009 and in this post, I'll decide which drama were the best, good, weird for 2009. I've been meaning to do this since last week but I got caught up with things at home and around. :)

Boys Before Flower or 꽃보다 남자 . (KBS2)
One word, over-rated. During the first few episodes namely 1-12, I was interested in the drama, I worry if I'm a little bit behind. But, then I just realise I stayed through Episode 11 for Jung Eui Cheol, I am not going to lie. During the first four episode, the drama was well scripted, acted and directed but after a while, I felt as if the characters were unstable, un-coherent as I like to say and well, we have to admit, it had so many flaws after a while. I understand it became a phenomenon, what I don't understand was the reason why? Why did everyone say it's one of the best drama in 2009? That I could not understand but if they were to say it was a fun drama to watch, I might agree. But, to be honest, during those 'dealing-with-fiance' episode, I felt like stopping myself to watch because I just didn't understand anymore. It was clear but the acting, the script, the soundtrack, it was just a no-no. I had this super high expectation and in the end, it was just unimpressive. A good drama should stay on a clear path where there's no sudden one episode good, one episode bad moments. Remember how the Monday episodes were different from the Tuesdays? And I could not get through another 'Almost paradiseeeeee' moment, that song was just ugh, It would have been better if it were use at a small amount.
The acting was for some people, a disappointment because all of them could have done better if their talent were utilised well. Come on, Goo Hye-Sun, that was not your best acting drama. I will not agree if people say she did an extraordinary job in BOF. She could have done better. What disappointed me was, the supporting actors / cameo actors and actresses did better than the leads, Come on, Eui Cheol was believable, Lee Min Jung became a reason why I stuck through the 'fiance-period', if it wasn't her, I don't think I would watch those episodes, Im Joo Hwan, Kim So-Eun, Kim Ki Bang, Jan Di's family. I think if it weren't for them, I wouldn't have finished this drama. I think at that period of time, when it was broadcasted, I followed through a trend, where everyone love BOF and I wanted to understand why they did because I slacked off after Episode 12, I will not lie.
So, this drama was just over-rated. I wouldn't say it's bad but I wouldn't say it's good either.

Story of A Man or 남자이야기. KBS2
I have to say, I did not expect this drama to impress me. Truthfully? The only reason why I did watch this was Park Ki-Woong but, wow, I was impressed. The execution, the scripting, the directing and the acting, it was amazing. What I love so much about the directing was it was different from the other dramas I had watched. In a scene, there would be some fore-shadowing in progress and I love that. Even though, the story is about revenge, you still have that comedy flair in the drama. A person should understand, we don't really need an angst-driven all around type of drama, it's nice to have a few laugh here and there.
What I liked about this drama too, is that, the strong and believable acting the actors had put up, whether they are the supporting or lead. You can help but like the supporting cast. I can't really explain this drama in words because you have to watch it to enjoy the drama and it's certainly worth the audience.
So, this drama is under-rated and I have to say Amazing.

Brilliant Legacy or 찬란한 유산 SBS
I would not say this drama is the best in 2009 because we have this so familiar storyline which you could actually finish in 9 episodes so it's really nothing new. But, what I like about this was the acting and scripting. I love how some of the actors and actresses grew during the drama. Lee Seung Gi did a better and awesome job at the end of the drama. Han Hyo Joo was beautiful and acting well through each and every scene. Bae Soo Bin was charismatic in his own ways and manage to capture the viewer's heart through his acting. Moon Chae Won, was awesome, I have to say. She was very convincing at the every end, she was so good with her emotions and everyone felt pity for her. This was a well-casted drama.
So, this drama deserves a GOOD. :)

Everybody Cha Cha Cha or 다함께 차차차 . KBS2
Why did I decide to follow a daily drama? I don't understand. I can't deny I have a love-hate relationship with this drama, it deals too much with Oh Man Suk and Jo An's characters and most of the time, I give this full-shout-yell towards them every time they come in on the scene. Their problems are dragged on too much and I honestly think, we can finish this drama within 30 episodes, I never understand why they need 150 episodes. What's harder is that, the characters that I love (The only reason why I do stick on the tv for it) are only given 3-5 minutes of screen time. They need to focus on them more. I am completely shock as to why they have to deal with Jin Woo and Na Yun's relationship more. We get it, they are in love. Big deal. They need to focus on Soo Hyun more. She's the one who's having the hard time, she IS the daughter, remember? I sometime, feel like banging a hammer in the television. I wished the script writer, producer and director would realise that I don't really care about Jin Woo and Na Yun. And, they need to stop the cheesy scenes with Han and Jing Yeong. :(

Who doesn't love Park Hae Jin? I can't really say anything about this drama mainly because I'm still watching it but I have to admit, I'm slacking off the radar. I think it's really hard to watch because it totally deals with cars and cars. So yeah.

Queen Seon Duk or 선덕여왕. MBC
I never really wanted to watch this drama because I know, we have to watch it until 50 episodes and they decided to extend it. The only reason why I am watching it is that, our local stations are broadcasting so, I don't really have to worry about loading, downloading and all that stuff. I open the TV at 8 and there it is. But I have to say, during the first few episodes, I was impress and here I am, finally following it. One of the reasons why I still am watching it is because of the actors it self, Go Hyun Jung is doing an amazing job in this drama. I think she deserves that Daesang she received at the end of the year. She's evil in an awesome way. You can't help but hate and love her at the same time. But, the other actors such as Lee Yo Won, Nam Ji Hyun, Kim Nam Gil, Lee Seung Hyo, Seo Young Hee, Moon Ji Yoon, Lee Moon Shik and Ryu Dam does an amazing job in acting their characters. I was a little disappointed with Uhm Tae Woong but I don't know why. But, I'm sticking through this drama because I want to see how much Kim Nam Gil and Lee Seung Hyo's character developed. I have a personal crush with both of this actors. I love their charisma. :D
