amazinggg, i love canon. i used a canon rebel for my photojournalism class last semester; i wouldn't say i'm an expert at all. but i'm asking for a camera as a graduation present and i'd like to know what you would recommend. i really want to practice with the manual settings - ISO, f-stop, etc. etc.
I would highly recommend going for the Rebel. Especially if you like Canon and have used it before. The two models of the Rebel that are on the market right now are the Canon EOS 350D/Digital Rebel XT (Ranges aroung $500) and the Canon EOS 400D/Digital Rebel XTi (Ranges around $800).
Check www.dpreview.com for the full breakdown of the differences between those cameras to see which better suits you.
But for the price and the quality of the camera, if you're trying to save money, go for the Rebel XT. It should be exactly what you're looking for.
I think it'd be perfect for you right now! Especially being on the more cost-efficient side of the spectrum, it'll allow you to do the things with a camera that I know you're missing terribly right now.
