All this was phat, he was wild he was free, with hypnertomachia poliphili
the frenchman cut punches of which he was fond and cast a family we call garamond!
Baskerville was a man with a mission -- he began the typographic transmission!

Serifs who needs 'em, we all got plans, strip 'em all away and we'll call the type sans!

He was printing in Germany, a city called Mainz and his first printed Bible had 42 lines.
Two germans went to Rome cause the food was better, and printed their books in Subiako letter.
Jensen was a Frechman but in Venice he was cool, his type was called Venitian and will always rule!

No, actually I was reading about the history of them! And! They originate from Latin, the latin word for "and" being et, so ampersands evolved from "et", which you can see in the italic garamond and baskerville ampersands in particular! How exciting!

I love fonts. Really, I don't think that people realize how much they affect the overall design. people wonder why I get so up tight about a crummy looking font, or even worse, comic sans, but it really just needs to flow. Oh my head hurts now at the mention of Comic Sans (Ouch!)
