Here is an update, mostly in photographs, of the past few days.
Last Wednesday I went into Philadelphia for a project, and when I was walking to 30th Street Station from having dinner with Casey at Penn, the city was actually glowing. So cool.
Wednesday I worked and got a good night's sleep, sort of. Thursday, I stayed up all night writing a paper. Here is me at 6AM:
So I took a couple hours of nap, went to my last french class and ate a lot of food, came home, took a shower, and made Bloody Marys with Phebe to celebrate the start of Haverfest! Here is me, on the green, munching on my Bloody Mary-dipped celery.
So Haverfest (and May Day, to some extent) was really fucking fun. For those not in the know, it's basically a two-day-long party, where everyone drinks all day out on the green and there are big moon bounce-things, and a giant slip'n'slide, and a dunk tank, and bands, and dancing, and just general lounging around. It felt really good to just sit out in the sun for three days and hang out with people I like and enjoy the beautiful weather. It was especially wonderful in relation to last year's Haverfest, which was rainy and shitty and gross and kind of fun but not really. Anyway, here's a few pictures from the weekend:
\
This is Sarah and Bender and Jess. I spent a lot of time hanging out with the seniors I've had friend-crushes on all year, which was wonderful. I'm really sad they're all going to leave soon, though... It's incredibly bizarre to think of being a senior the next time I'm at Haverford.
You can see a little of the crowd here. Founder's Green was pretty much covered in blankets and people and hookahs and coolers and inflatable things.
Jack and Taylor dancing to Sex Piano.
Saturday night in Gummere basement -- this is mostly just for the incredibleness of the look on George's face. Jordan's face is pretty good, too.
Sunday was May Day at Bryn Mawr, where all the Bryn Mawr ladies dress in white and start drinking at six in the morning. You know... maidenhood, drunkenness, etc. Here is a crowd shot; as you can see, most people are wearing white, except for the Haverford kids who come over for more drinking/the really good food that Bryn Mawr gets for the May Day dinner.
In case I hadn't mentioned it already, it was just a really spectacular weekend weather-wise.
This is Jack again (who has been wearing the same outfit for three days, which he claims means he is "living the party dream") and Aly from Fools. She was drinking wine coolers, which I think is pretty amazing.
And this... this is Julie and Kendra, who I love. They were silly.
The end! In conclusion, this weekend was great, and I really am having a hard time readjusting to homework. I just had my French oral final, which went fine, I think, and now I have to study for my Art History final on Tuesday. Then I have a Film paper due Friday, and thennn an English paper and my French written final next week. Not horrible, but not FUN. Anyhoo, I think I'm either going to watch Dogville now or go read/nap on the green. We'll see.
