These were planted in the 1930s - the Victorian State Government apparently got some seeds from the USA & tried them in a few locations. The 2 that really worked out are a small grove in the Otway National Park on the south coast & a larger planted forest in Warburton, about 90 minutes north-east of Melbourne...
So the trees in both areas are about 90-something years old - only babies!!!
