Sleet pinged off my head while I brushed piles of soft snow off my car yesterday morning. All I could think was how strange it was that I was sitting outside in a t-shirt on Sunday afternoon at Starbucks with Heather

I have only experienced one baby shower game that wasn't obnoxious, and it was actually at an office baby shower, which are usually the worst. (I hate baby showers so much, and I've had to plan quite a few over the years.)
Anyway, everyone was given an index card and was asked to write down either the craziest thing they ever had to say to their child, or the craziest thing their parents ever said to them. Then the mom-to-be read them all out loud and we all guessed who each one had come from. It was a great game because it wasn't very structured, and it gave everyone a chance to tell some really funny stories. Since it was an office shower, it was both guys and girls, and people of all ages. Some of the funniest stories came from people with older kids, but even the people who didn't have kids had stories to share. It really made for a fun party.
First, parents are just muddling through with their own babies, so you'll be fine if you muddle it out too.
Second, shower activities I've enjoyed: at my shower everyone made a scrapbook page with a message for my baby. Then the host put the pages in a binder for my baby. Alice loves me reading her the messages! At a friend's shower, there were lots of white onesies and guests decorated them with fabric markers. Really fun. No such thing as too many onesies!
The decorating onesies thing was my absolute favorite thing my friends did at my shower. My oldest son is 7 now and I've kept all those onesies to use for my other two kids.

The scrapbook page is a sweet idea. I really like the onesies one, as well, I may borrow that!
