I have sucked at updating and reading my friends list lately. I've actually, god forbid, been busy at work. I know, the very idea, right? And when I'm not doing that, I'm rereading the Anne of Green Gables series all the way through for the first time as an adult. (It's even better now ( Read more... )

I agree! I reread the books so much as a teenager that I grew blind to some of their intricacies. Having set most of them aside for at least 10 years, it's interesting to go back now and take in the details.

I can commiserate! My mom never wore contacts, but I was very uncomfortable around her when she took her glasses off. It didn't help that she always had extremely puffy dark circles under her eyes that I couldn't see when she was wearing her glasses. I inherited them, actually, but I'm lucky in that mine aren't puffy.

Even as a teen, when she got her pupils dilated, I couldn't stand to be around her until her eyes went back to normal. I remember one year that she had it done on my birthday and I felt bad when she took me out to eat that afternoon and I could barely look at her.

I would never have traced that similarity, but now that you mention it, I see it!

I love this photo! My mom had really similar glasses back in the day, although she almost never wore them in public. She has more stylish glasses now.

I look more and more like my mom every year, which is strange to me.

Thankfully, my mom does, too.

I've always looked kinda like my mom, but I think I looked more like her a few years ago then I do now and realizing that is weird for me. I think it's more superficial things that make the difference now, like my makeup and hair, but I'm not sure. I'm actually trying to analyze this now and having trouble hitting on what it is, exactly.
