I got my email account in 1999. I had one in '98 with Hotmail, but they had an issue with their servers for a few days once and this was NOT OKAY, not in 1998, so I got a backup with Yahoo that became my primary in 2001 when my then-boyfriend's computer, straight out of 1994, couldn't handle Hotmail. I've saved most of my correspondence in this

I'm afraid to look through my old LJ posts for pretty much the same reason.

Same! I thought before--years ago--that maybe I should go through and start tagging stuff, because I almost never use them and some things I might actually want to revisit are just floating out there, somewhere in the past. But at the same time, I just can't bring myself to go through a lot of it. I'd probably just start deleting left and right.
