A wonderfully peppery beef stew, and a very nice 2007 Merlot to go with it thanks to Chris's birthday gift -- this whole "making yourself dinner" is pretty okay. It helps that I have clearly mastered the art of putting in almost too much pepper. Whew.

Exciting life? I live one, no doubt.
