1. Green Snake. 1993, directed by Tsui Hark. Want to see an kung fu romance about Shadowfist-style Transformed Animals? Then this is the movie. Not the greatest ever, but I enjoyed it.

2. Green Lantern. Not the worst movie I've ever seen. It is a hell of a story to tackle, by it's very nature it's almost damned to be 90% CGI. I was sad that I had ( Read more... )

I agree with you on the lushness of it. And it isn't bad, but certainly isn't my favourite.

I can't recommend GLantern. It was a speculation watch, and isn't really part of my "pattern" of enjoyable movies that did very poorly.

Never seen (more than a couple episodes of) Firely. Own it. Not watching it has become a point of stubborn pride. And yes, SPilgrim was very too-clever-for-it's-own-good, which for me was part of the appeal. If that makes sense.

...and the Coen Brothers are my favourite directors (and producers) ever since I first saw Raising Arizona. When I saw it in the theatre people actually walked out. That pretty succinctly illustrates your point.

I do like A Better Tomorrow (I, but not the later instalments) but more because you can see John Woo stringing together the style that he display in The Killer and Hard-Boiled.

I've got Dee sitting around here somewhere, been waiting for a good opportunity to watch it.
