Today I started working the position of assistant engineer and tape operator for a local metal band War of Angels..
We pretty much did pre production, structure, layouts, mic choices... the usual... and then got to work 6 hours doing guide tracks for 10 songs. These guys are way good. Should be fun.

I had some free time tonight... So I decided to gut out an old Peavey practice bass amp i had and wire it backwards into an XLR with a 100ohm resistor between pins two and three. And now its a Microphone I can use for Kick drum reinforcement. Its resonant frequency is around 50Hz, which should be low enough behind an Audix D6 or something. Tomarrow ( Read more... )
