St. Jude's Nightclub.

I’ve decided to turn my “ultra-private” other-journal into a community. Gasp it all if that doesn’t make that-which-was-once private, about as public as you can get, but it seemed like the thing to do. I’m not adding interests, I’m not promoting it, I’m just going to let it “exist” and for those of you who make your way there and want to join, ( Read more... )

great idea. just tonight, i was thinking of how i would really like to be a part of a community where you can go during the rough times without getting into a discussion about needing meds (been there, done that) or just putting on a happy face.
and i definitely think i qualify. reading the requirements, my inner dialogue was as follows: "check, check, check..". ;)

glad i wasn't the only one with the "check, check" thing going on :)

the title of the community didn't sink in until just a few moments ago, and i'd read it almost three hours ago...St. Jude is the patron saint of hopeless cases (as you may already know), and as such, i've claimed him as my patron...i wear two little pendants round my belt loop at all times...one is of St. Jude, the other my guardian angel...NOT that i'm catholic or even religious mind you :) ...it just shocked me a litle i guess...i thought "what a cool idea!!" :)

that was as much to wakerife as it was to you...but yeah...anyway...i enjoy rambling uselessly...*brilliant smile*...

If you’re on my friends list, and I didn’t outright “Shanghai” you into the community, it’s probably because - and please, don’t take this the wrong way - but well, as far as I can tell, you’re...um...happy.

I have two thoughts on this (and no, I'm not offended)...

One, happiness sometimes rubs off.

Two, I don't think happy just falls into your lap. I think you've got to learn how to do it. And the best way to learn that, is to watch happy people.

1. Are alone in the world

No kids, my family treats me like shit/ignores me, and I could use some more real friends.

2. Are unemployed, or unhappily employed, most particularly in a place where their co-workers hate them.

Long unemployed, and tired of "pep talks".

3. Are homeless, or living in a place they can’t call their own.

Rental with restrictions that get on my tits.

4. Are living someplace where they hate the weather.

Maine. Need I say more? Shall I mention social isolation?

5. Have no money, or all their money is spoken for.

I have about $10 left that I can use.

9. Often feel that nothing that they are good at is of any importance.

Yup It's of importance to me, but...

Your post made me realize how much I tailor what I write in my own journal.

Yup, you've made the guestlist -- the community journal name is: historia.

The main thing I know about Maine, is that it is supposed to by chilly - apparently in more ways than one...

Exactly. I've been here 6 years now (Wow! How did that happen?), and have pretty much busted my butt to make friends, find places to live, get a job, etc... Moving in with Mr. XY took homelessness off my worry list.

I promise, I won't give advice or dump happy talk in historia.
