This is wonderful! I don't tend to read slash (I'm more into het or femslash), but wow, this was well-written enough to make me a fan! I love how realistic you make this ship seem- I have a hatred of any pairing where the writer heads straight for fluff or sexytiems without building a foundation for the relationship, especially when it's characters that have no common interests or history in canon (ack, this fail happens with my OTP all the time). But you address that, I love that the unlikely nature of a Gryffindor and Slytherin is the driving force of the fic and you don't lose sight of that but make their eventual friendship the most natural seeming thing in the world ( ... )

Ohhhh, this is such a nice comment! :') You always have the kindest things to say. I'm really flattered that you enjoyed it, despite the slash being out of your comfort zone! I'm really glad that you found everything worked together and built up well, because I was pretty worried about that.

Thank you so much bb, your comment means a lot to me. ♥

DID YOU KNOW THEODORE NOTT WAS MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER FOR THE LONGEST TIME?
And that I appreciate Neville Longbottom a lot so clicking over to find this fic is already making me do this --> :DDDDDD

Oh, Neville - I love that you put this in fourth year, too, that he hasn't quite come into himself yet but you can see your Neville becoming 5th and 6th and 7th year Neville - the flashes of Gryffindor bravery here are just lovely. AND!

He knows what it’s like to see other boys with their mothers and wish so badly for the one thing they all take for granted. He notices that Nott doesn’t ask what happened, and he actually appreciates it. There’s a reason Neville never talks about his parents, after all. It’s easier to pretend the hurt isn’t there - at least where others are concerned.yesyesyesyes I see too many pairings with Neville involving him confiding about his parents right away and that just doesn't make any sense at all to me and sad but also happy hands ( ... )

I like this Neville and am glad things are working out for him!

That said, though... seeing a good grade referred to as "A" is one of my personal pet peeves for HP fic (in a world where A is universally recognized as an "Acceptable")...

Grades were never specifically referred to in the HP world before O.W.L.s, and since this was a fic set in fourth year, I guess it didn't really occur to me that they'd be using those grades in the lower years, too. Sorry for bothering you with it.
