OMG - How can you leave us like this? I feel bereft!!! What a cliffhanger. Although, we certainly were very well rewarded for our patience - such a long and informative chapter! Irina showing up, Sark saving Syd, Syd having the same symptoms as Sark, Sark digging up (and possibly having killed Vaughn) and Sloane. *whew* This was an awesome update. Thank you!! (more please?)

GREAT UPDATE!

"Whether the beauty of the cemetery was despite or because of its inescapable association with death, Sydney did not know. She realizes then that she doesn’t have to choose. It’s simply beautiful and that’s enough for her."

I couldn't help but think of Sark when I read those lines. I love that Sydney didn't attempt to justify why she found the cemetary beautiful. That seems very poignant ...perhaps forshadowing how she'll come to terms with her feelings for Sark. Of course, that could just be my wishful Sarkney thinking... :)

I had to go re-watch the ball/dream sequence in Labyrinth ...for research purposes. ;) I'm now stuck with a permanent mental image of Sark in tights. I thought it was clever that Sydney's symptoms mirrored Sarah's drug/dream disorientation ( ... )

I did do that cemetary/Sark symbolism on purpose...see, she loves him and she just doesn't know it yet! Everyone else can see it, why can't she? Haha.

Haha, Sark in tights. He needed to be in more disguises on the real show so I can't really be faulted for putting him in ridiculous disguises in fanon, right? Right.

I agree that Sydney, even though Cesar was going to kill her, would try and save him, because she's like that. And of course Sark would kill him without thinking. That's how they roll! I'm glad you think so too and not that Sydney was an idiot for doing such a thing...I wondered it myself while writing it!

As for the illness...well, I won't go there. I don't want to give it away :-)

Thank you so much for your amazing reply...it just makes my day!

Haha, Sloane being blackmailed instead of doing the blackailing? Smells like payback, if you ask me!

I was glad to bring Irina into the mix, if only for a phone convo. I believe we'll be hearing from them again soon...

I hope to update more frequently now and I certainly can't wait to bring it to you! Thanks so much for your comment!

I've been following this for a while, but haven't left a comment. I'm in the middle of re-watching Alias season 2, and with all the faces/voices/mannerisms of the characters fresh in my mind, it's been a pleasure to read this. I particularly enjoy how you have done dialogue. Not just in this chapter, but the whole series. It's very accurate, nothing seems forced or out of place, everything flows nicely together. Dialogue is one of my favorite parts of any fic, and it's rare that I am 100% (and then some) satisfied with it, like I am with yours. Especially the Sark and Sydney banter. Which is one of the best parts of Sarkney, and you do a fantastic job at it ( ... )

Here, you stop lurking and I stop checking to see if anyone posted any comments lately!  I apologize profusely for the lateness of my reply!  I, too, find the dialogue is my favorite part of a fic and I know I myself agonize over the canon-ness of Syd and Sark's discussions in my fic so it makes me so happy t hat you find it to be in their characters :-DHaha, I'm glad you didn't know it was going to be Sark as the mystery dancer...I mean, if I were Sydney, I'd know Sark anywhere I'd see him, cause I mean, he's Sark!  But Sydney, she does not realize her love for him yet, so we can forgive her for not recognizing him on sight.Poor Cesary :-(  He was just so, so sad and even t hough he would have killed Sydney, he just didn't know what else to do without Nadia.  I like that about Syd's character too, her compassion..we can't expect her to kill people in cold blood, can we?  As you said to succinctly, that's what Sark's there for ( ... )
