Good TV returns.

So, Shameless is back, and Frank is truly one of the vilest characters ever to appear on screen. And he managed to break Deb, with the sheer power of his vileness. That's kind of impressive, yet horrifying. Deb is the pure heart of the Gallaghers, and when the pure heart is bludgeoning her dad with a pillow case full of soap, all is not right.

Also, is it me or are there two different Mandys (Mandies? How do you pluralise that?) -- the supportive girlfriend who wants to help Lip better himself, and the competitive would-be alpha-female at war with Fiona. Either it's all about the personal ambition -- she wants Lip successful and under her control -- or it's a combination of honest supportiveness and personal insecurity -- because Fiona pushes her, she pushes right back.

Arrow is also back, and clearly Diggle has spent the hiatus working out. After that shirtless scene, and the fight with them bending each other over the desk, Tommy has lost all chance of becoming the main slash pairing for the show.

Meanwhile, Thea was having an Awesome Thea episode, as opposed to the Annoying Thea episodes. By this show's standards, her explaining to Ollie how Steel helped their mother through her grief, then seeing that she has to do the same, and doing it was unusually subtle writing.

Still really enjoying this show. Also, Laurel is pretty (although you may not have noticed her in between all the chiselled dudes).
