Cusp of Summer
The Pumpkin will be coming back to Seattle for the summer in a few weeks, and at that point I'll be so busy I doubt I'll have time to think about posting to LJ, much less actually do it. Holiday comes to a close
The house is quiet again with all the family back to their home cities. Sadly this includes the Pumpkin as we'd love to have more time with him, but we have to split his holiday evenly with his dad in Houston. Giving Thanks
Today Professor X is 16 months old. Last year at Thanksgiving he had a little taste of turkey and sweet potatoes (his favorite food on the planet at the time, likely because the America's Test Kitchen recipe we make for them is delicious and buttery). Kamping
I've always enjoyed camping, and back in the Boy Scouts we did everything from "build a little frontier homestead" camping to low-impact camping (the rage at Philmont which has to endure 22,000 visitors a year). In the past decade or so, I've mostly engaged in 'car-camping' where you drive up to a campground, throw out a tent, and call it good. ( Read more... ) -
End of Summer
I've been remiss in my posting here for a few months. Frankly the summer's are crazy busy with a toddler and Rhys about, so the time I've had in front of my computer at night after the kids are asleep has been going into Skyrim. The flight home was not as problematic as the flight to Texas, but it did take off an hour late due to some maintenance paperwork silliness. Overall it was a good "family trip", but as usual I'm left feeling like I need a vacation from my vacation. -
