Over on the west side of the metro area, and about ten klicks from the ocean, there's a group of stately buildings on a wide avenue.
These are museums. You'd be surprised what people think is worthy of conservation these days. Admission tends to be either cheap or free, so why not take a look?

Mal was heading back to the ship, when he sees one of their guests from Milliways heading into a museum.
"...You know where you're goin' at all?"

A pause.
"Which doesn't meant that a local guide wouldn't be welcome."

They've moved at that point into the entrance corridor before the actual museum collection, and Mal points at a sign above the door in blocky Chinese characters.
"This is a collection of uniforms. Clothing and the like, different periods."

It turns out to be a mixture of displays (particularly of the actually valuable artifacts, such as board games from Earth-That-Was) and interactive tables for people to play at, both interspersed with signs about strategy and game theory.
River is currently peering at the glass-encased box for a game called Life.

The inside of the store has an eerie resemblance to an after-church game room, but with boards and cards that Mal's never heard of or seen before, even in Milliways.
"Okay, you get to explain this one to me?"
