We had a Hapkido seminar satuday, and Master Lem also taught class last night.  He had us running laps, kicking and all kinds of warm-ups, it was exhausting.  Hapkido is more about pain.  How to make your attaker feel as much pain as possible.  I learned some AWESOME stuff.  It was fabulous.  I tried them on my dad, and he was surprised, thats a ( Read more... )

LOL, if you like pain, give Brazilian Ju-Jit-Su a go, you'll get broken in half and have the blood squeezed from you like a sponge. :P PULLING PUNCHES IN SPARRING?! Man, we straight up tried to kill each other in my class. ;)

ha yes, well, we work more on technique then force. If you're fighting a guy with 3 times more muscle mass than you, it's better to use your brain than brute force, because if you try to use your muscle against his, he will win. Sparring builds endurace and teaches quickness instead of trying to "kill" each other.

But, honestly, now and then it would be fun to really fight someone. But, I couldn't do it unless I had a reason to, I've never been able to try and hurt someone unless I was defending myself.
