When Scotty opened the door, he was greeted by an empty and quiet apartment, he took off his jacket and placed the keys in the key bowl like every day. He had a glass of water in one gulp and took a deep breath. It wouldn't be an easy talk but it needed to be had.
He walks up to the bedroom and just as he expected, he found his husband in bed giving his back to him. Kevin has been lying like that for a few days now, any other position and he gets nauseous. He smiles and lies next to him. Chin on the curve formed by Kevin's neck and shoulder, one arm on his waist and the other under the pillow: Kevin's favorite way to wake up.
- Hey... I thought you had left me - a sleepy Kevin says as he entwins his fingers with his husband's.
- No... I just needed to think
- I went to talk with Abraham, he says he will see what he can do to protect our little girl
Scotty couldn't stop the grin on his face and he tightened the embrace and kissed kevin's shoulder and neck, making kevin giggle from the tickling. Maybe it wasn't going to have a hard conversation after all.
- I know... he drove me home
Kevin turned around suddenly and Scotty looked at him confused

- He drove me home... - Scotty repeated
- He... he did actually get you in the car and drove you home? he did that?
