Video, partially accidental

Jun 09, 2011 14:25

[The video comes on to show an extreme closeup of a brown firelizard's tail. Looks like Argent has managed to accidentally turn on Ray's PCD. The tail moves away, but the bulk of Argent's body still takes up most of the viewscreen until he chirrups and leaps off the table, flying clumsily over to where Ray is leaning back in a chair looking ( Read more... )

[Reno considers before responding, then finally gives a light shrug and hits record on his PCD. The grin he offers the stranger comes easily. Might as well start making new contacts.. and the more benign the method, the better.]

I might be your man. [Unspoken was the part that said, if there's something in it for me.] Kept pretty weird hours back home no problem.

That dragon of yours a baby or just a runt's runt?

I wouldn't expect you to do it for free of course. It's very little work, but I do enjoy sleep.

It's parents weren't much bigger.

I'm game, then. [He offers the screen a bit of a nod.] You'll have to show me what y' need me to do. Only jerky I ever ate came out of a plastic bag.

What're the coords?

It's not hard, just making sure the fire doesn't go out or burn the house down.

For an animal that holds little resemblance to silver? As an antonym, perhaps.

[This is video, just so you get the full benefit of his highly amused expression.]

The women are planning a get-together. Seems like you would fit right in.

[Ouch. But the only visible reaction you'll get is a slight narrowing of his eyes, quickly replaced by a cocky smile]

Perhaps I would. It would be a chance to spend more time with your charming wife.

[His smile doesn't disappear, exactly, but it definitely sharpens.]

Good of you to take such an interest in her. Do keep her from getting bored with the needlework.

Women are seldom bored in my company.

I told you that you had tamed him, did I not?

[She smiles cheekily, then adopts a more serious expression, her gaze focused on that spindle in his hands.]

Would you be willing to make more spindles, Ray? I have need of one, and I believe Her Majesty does as well. And - two others. I would like to teach the children to spin. I would be happy to help with your spinning, or your sorting, should you wish to have yarn or thread that does not resemble a rainbow.

Indeed you did. He may prove useful.

I could make more. They are very simple to make.

If nothing else, he is a companion. If one lives alone, one should have an animal for a companion. And a dragon is quite a fearsome companion, even one as small as your Argent.

[She smiles at this.]

Would you? I would be most appreciative.

It would be my pleasure.

A miniature... dragon? Well, I guess there's all kinds of crazy crap in this place. What's one more?

I'm sure the natives of this place would call it something else, but it looks enough like the dragons of legend except for it's size that I figure the name fits.
