Late Wednesday/Early Thursday Morning, New York City

It was no secret that Savannah had nightmares sometimes. Maybe more than sometimes. However, this time, the dream felt a lot more real than she was used to. She moved restlessly on the bed next to Johnny as she dreamed. She was murmuring in her sleep, but someone would have to be awake and paying attention to know what she was saying.

'Tell this guy to let me go. Put me down. Now!' )

While Savannah was in the living room, testing his very fine bourbon, Johnny became increasingly aware (yes, while sleeping) that the usual warmth cuddled beside him, had faded signifigantly.

Slowly pushing himself upwards, he worked at blinking the sleep away while his palm fell flat upon the empty space to his right. "Savannah?" he whispered quietly, sleepily, not yet worried by her absence.

Savannah heard him say her name as she came back into the room. She was silent for a moment, making sure that her voice would be as steady as possible. Between the amount of bourbon she had swallowed and the dreams, she wasn't sure how normal she was going to sound.

"I'm here, love," she said quietly from the floor where she had knelt to pet Destiny and to calm the cat from her brother down. "It's early, go back to sleep."

"I'll go back to sleep if you go back to sleep," he replied, logically.

Then added, his brow creasing somewhat: "Why are you not sleeping?"

Savannah took in a breath, and then decided that if she kept her voice a whisper, Johnny wouldn't be able to hear how upset she was.

(Logic was not strong with this one today.)

"Something woke me up," she said truthfully.
