Despite having been shoved out the Milliways door into a strange place by a certifiable psychopath, Jamie is at first not particularly alarmed. Lara may think she's gotten her revenge, and more power to her; Lara has no idea that Jamie's whole life is popping by surprise into strange places. There are running footfalls, very close. A lot of them.

And a dozen uniformed figures come pounding around the bend in the corridor, about half of them carrying what look unnervingly like weapons --

- oh, it would be that kind of a world.

Jamie wrenches his mind back into the immediate present, instinctively throwing himself down into a 'terrified' huddle before he's even had a chance to consciously formulate a plan.

In this case, it definitely seems wisest to cast himself as a victim.

About eight of them go straight on past, through a round doorway and into what sounds like a much larger and noisier area. One can be heard shouting spread out, she can't have gone far.

The remaining four have slowed and stopped around him. One's aiming a weapon (it isn't quite shaped like a gun, but she's pointing it like one); another steps closer and bends down.

"Did you see a woman go by here, kid?"

Jamie shakes his head, eyes on the weapon, trying to keep it vague whether he means 'no' or 'I don't understand you' - the important thing is to keep looking innocent and frightened, which he does.
