Help me...

Aug 24, 2007 21:26

So how *do*  I change that awfully little comment box with the tiny letters you can barely see?
Who can help me out?

On a brighter side:
I'm in the running for a new job, besides my studies that is. It's an awesome job, but...
they want me to get rid of the nose piercing and the tongue piercing. Is that worth it? The job is for max. 2 years, but I ( Read more... )

New day, new chance! I'll try again when I'm a little more awake.

Let's see, I have think about how to explain this in English..
I would work at an office that puts temporary workers (German Zeitarbeitnehmer) to work in like a factory that sorts and sends (a large portion of all Dutch) mail. The workplace is right next to the factory. When I'm in the office, I can wear my piercings, when I'm in the factory, I can't,
It's just weird, I had a summer job at another office from the same company, and they never said anything about my piercings. And besides that, what's the point? Do I do a less better job with my piercings in?

Why don't you wanna get a piercing?

After reading these comments, I agree with Noreen: ask if you can tape the nose piercing, so it'll be safe...

The only thing I have pierced are my ears, so if this sounds dumb, please forgive me ;) Maybe you can take your piercings out at work and put them back in when you are home?

And I sooo talked like that when I was a kid, you didn't?! Seriously, what is wrong with you? *big fat wink* Van welke reclame is het eigenlijk?

That pic kiiiii-iiiiii-iiiiiled me! LOL!

I'm not sure I can take them out for that long, it would be such a shame if they closed again. (bad english, but you know what I mean..) Especially the tongue piercing was horrible the first week or so.

Stomme nieuwe Danone - reclame.. Let me tell you, I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters, non of them ever talked like that!

Saw the pic on a discussion bord somewhere, I just had to save it!

I'm considering getting a nose piercing as well, so I did a bit of research about them. Can't you get these retainer things? It conceals the piercings quite effectively I've heard...

A retainer? What's that?

Hmm, don't know if I can explain it properly... It's a clear or flesh-coloured kind of piercing that hides the actual piercing without the risk that the hole can close. Maybe you should look for it at google or something, but I heard some people are pretty positive about it...

Googled it, and yes, that really looks great! It might be a solution, because I really don't wanna get rid of the piercing..
Thanks!

So.

1. I don't know what you mean by the little comment box but it looks like someone else got you covered. If you mean the comments that keep getting tinier and tinier---yeah, what's up with that?

2. My posts (and you better have meant me--are you two-timing me with another Jane???) are not awesome at all. In fact they are lazy-ass lame posts. Just so you know.

3. If someone is hiring I'm not sure if they can demand you take out the peircings, but they might not hire you because of them. So I'd say take out the nose one when you're at work, but why take out the tongue one? Sounds painful if it closed.

Well, I changed my whole layout so the tiny comment box is gone.
Maybe people get a little lazy, and they don't want to give long comments any more? I love comments, feed the feedback whore, as laurelote says.

Ofcourse I meant your posts, there is no other Jane in my life, I swear!
No matter what you say, I say your posts are way cool. Just so you know.

Part of me would love this job, but then, they also already started nagging about my schedule and I couldn't get them to understand the schedule from university changes occasionally. No, they kept repeating they expected me to be available at least 4 nights from 5 pm, while I kept repeating: 'But my school schedule changes and maybe I'm not able to be there at least 4 nights by 5 pm.' After which they just repeated their statement. Sigh.

Hmmm. Maybe the position isn't right for you then. I'm sure there's something perfect for you that would accomodate your schedule. I know from experience that if the scheduling is an issue from the interview, then it's only going to get worse and cause lots of aggravation!

Yay for feedback whoring!

I have to call them tomorrow, let's see what they say.
It's only a job on the side for me, so if I don't get it, I can just stay where I am now, no troubles..
