He was a Miata-driving, McDonald's cheeseburger-loving ("the regular cheeseburgers -- not Quarter Pounders!"), Jayhawk-rooting advocate for change and challenge. In short, he was unique and unrepeatable. --Richard Crowson from the article, GARDNER WAS UNIQUE, UNREPEATABLE.
That made me smile as I had forgotten The Miata-driving, KU supporting Parts of him; I always remember that Car in the parking lot, and the Glass hanging in the window.
That made me smile too. "You are a uniqe and unrepeatable child of God" I remember him saying that to me so many times. I remember the Sundays when I got to sit next to George when I acolyted and how much more exciting they were than when I was with Don and Deann (? was that who was there? Or was it Gary? I don't remember). Wow, that was ages ago.
I remember crying when he left College Hill. I also remember practicing our puppet skit for Kenton Christmas with him. I think it was my favorite skit we've ever done.

He was a great guy; I refer to you know who.
