I have a spanking new Intous5 at home and I have barely used it because it just isn't as portable as a pad and pencil for me right now. I'm not home much, and I won't be for a while yet. D: ):

The one with Merlin on the floor is just... absolutely stunning. I know next to nothing about art but I think it's the shading and the texture that I love. And his adorable little feet. You probably need to draw Arthur and Merlin cuddling now.

This is my first time seeing the pole-dancing Merlin one -- ha ha, cute! The scarf! *dies* Take it off, Merlin, take it all off. I like what you did with the coloring - the light flares in the background are really cool!

That's the nice thing about a trusty old pad and pencil... it's easy to take anywhere, doesn't require electricity, and there's something wonderfully stress-relieving about feeling the scratch of an actual pencil point across actual paper. You've made me want to break out the pencils again. :)

I did that one yesterday on a lark! Someone saw it and said "Can he look MORE gay?" (um, that was the point lol).

You break out the colored pencils! That is something I've never gotten the hang of.

I think I want to do something new - I want to try combining gouache with colored pencils!

You know how I've always said I enjoy painting, but I hate mixing the colors while I work? I just saw something that made me go, 'Doh, why have I never thought of that?' This illustrator ( http://www.lizzyrockwell.com/asklizzy.htm ), talking about how she works, says that she mixes up a ton of different shades of different colors (gouache) and stores them in little tubs with screw tops so that they don't dry out. That way, when she sits down to work she has hundreds of already pre-mixed colors to choose from. Smart! See what her set-up looks like:

:D Two different reactions in one post!

My dad's been in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. That is manageable barely since I'm efficient in emergencies. It is dealing with far a way relatives and all their sudden past anger & crap that is impossible. Shutup and let me concentrate on dad!
