Bastet, What's UP with the Dogs...???

Why???

Why are the Dog Gods doing this??????
Or is it just Bastet having a Good Laugh?
Why is it not the adorable snuggly brilliant Papillon that I want?
Oh no - it's the Basset, the Cattle Dog... the kinds I'm not, well, drawn to.

In December it was the Basset Hound, found starved, ribs showing, sweet as can be. He's found a great home with our ( Read more... )

How horrible, I can't understand why people who don't have a heart and a love for animals end up having them as pets. That poor dog. I'm so glad you found him, good luck finding a home for him, you're wonderful for doing it.

He's really been sweet this morning - enough to where the kids & dogs have played nice with him inside our fence. He does however want to herd the cats - but I don't trust that he doesn't want to herd them into his lunchbox...

He has bowed down submissively to the dogs in residence, which is a good thing today.

With some success have been calling him "Dingo" (as Australian Cattle Dogs have been interbred with Dingos), and he also is very attentive to "stop that" and "come here" noises. Smart dog!

It's my cats I worry about.

Yea, I'd be worried about them too. Even if he is a good dog it would probably be really hard for him to fight those instincts. Even if he didn't mean to hurt them it probably wouldn't end well for the kitties. Good luck with him!

I've been wanting to get a second dog. Lita needs a buddy. Is this one playful at all, or was he trying to herd your animules? I'd like to come down and take a look anyway, since I haven't seen you guys in forever.

I don't have cows either.

I think I remember how to get there. Today OK?

Yeah, boy dogs with their equipment intact can have that effect.

you might contact my ex-husband. He can get you in touch with the aussie rescue group that's local up there. He's marq.singer@gmail dot com.

since he's headed for GDC some time today, you might also try dogtraining@gmail - that'd be claire apple, she does herding training and may be able to help as well.
