Jan 07, 2011 21:26

This is going to be much shorter than the last post but I did want to finish up the rest of what I didn't cover in Pt. 1.

I was going to do this huge review of all seasons of BSG with this post, but many of you already know my thoughts. I'm sure some day I'll sit down and pick it apart... but not today. Just know that ever since I flew through all ( Read more... )

Neil Gaiman would be writing some episodes of Doctor Who this upcoming year and I'm excited to see what he comes up with!

Oh, really? I haven’t read any of Neal Gaiman’s books, but I love his comics and graphic novels (namely “The Sandman”, “Death” and “Stardust”, the ones I have read). I am excited, too!

I really liked “The Time Traveler's Wife” when I read it some years ago -I feel like I should re-read it now, though, I don’t know exactly why (maybe I feel my tastes have changed a bit) but I am not sure if I’d enjoy it as much as I did then --I watched the film adaptation this summer and I didn’t like it much. But “The Fearful Symmetry” was on my upcoming-reads list, and now I am not sure if I am going to read it anytime soon, you are not the first person who says that the novel is not really worth it.

“Persuation”! I haven’t read this one yet, and I should, I know.

I'm almost embarassed to admit I like Lady Gaga after all the strange controversy around her.

Don’t feel embarrassed. I like Lady Gaga, too! :)

I thought the same after watching the film. Thought perhaps I'd romanticized the book. I really didn't like the film adaptation at all even though I'm usually a big fan of both Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams. I started second guessing my love of the novel. After re-reading it though I honestly think the back/forth storyline, the narrative of both Clare and Henry, their complicated love story and struggles they go through internally just does not translate to film very well. That said, I lived in Chicago for a year so possibly part of the reason the book holds such a special a place in my heart is simply because it describes local areas I'm very familiar with. :)

Oh and about Vienna Teng, I have to say her entire album "Dreaming through the Noise" I'm very partial to. At one point I had concocted this whole novel's worth of ideas for stories and characters that linked each song together.

1br/1ba makes me think of my move to Chicago several years back. hehe Blue Caravan holds a special place in my heart. I also really like that the song Recessional was inspired by the film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" I've wanted to vid the song to the movie for *ages* but I've not had the time or appropriate software/hardware to do so. Perhaps, someday.
