It's always so strange to come home and have to be a Muggle again. It's so much calmer here. No gingerbread men running around. Not that I really mind, since Christmas is a lot of fun, even if my family doesn't celebrate it too much! And it's kind of nice to just relax and not think about magic for awhile, though... it's also strange to think of

Well it's nice to have a break from the weird stuff that happens at school all the time. Though it is kind of hard sometimes to keep all the stuff about magic a secret from people.

Yes, I guess that's part of the reason why we aren't allowed to use magic at home until we're old enough. But it's so awkward when they ask about how my year at school went!

No kidding, it gets harder and harder every year to make stuff up that doesn't sound suspicious. Not that some of my muggle friends would believe me anyway.

They'd just think we'd gone crazy if we told them the truth. It's too bad.

By the way, how are things going with your guest?

[toothballs]

So, wait... you don't talk to people at home about magic? At all?

[wandandsword]

Well, my immediate family knows, but we don't really talk about it. I mean, it is a little strange.

[toothballs]

What's so strange about it, huh?

Most Muggles don't believe in magic! So if I tell them I go to magic school, they'll just think I'm crazy.

[sigh] Some holiday traditions are calmer than others.

[especially when certain... ebullient... family friends are involved.]

Do you have exciting holiday traditions?

I don't. Gran's guest does.
