Yeah, sure, pheromones, but I think there's another reason too...

When you're out getting all gross and sweaty and nasty, you look like you're having fun. Guys don't want to be with a girl who's so worried about smearing her makeup or breaking her nail that she won't toss a bowling ball or dance til she's soaked in sweat.

Having fun is attractive! Anyway, that's my two cents.
