Summer's Last Will and Testament-Doomed summer, supported on the shoulders of winter and autumn: citrus-infused Baltic amber, red valerian, marigold, blood orange, and sunflower subdued by somber myrrh and dry geranium alongside the leaves of autumn and a breath of winter wind.
Alright, I am scared of this for the myrrh factor but really wanted it for the sunflower.
Citrusey. No myrrh yet. Tiny, eeney touch of amber. Kind of soapy, but that special girly soap that you got to treat yourself. (Hour later- still warm and slightly soapy)
Brinsingamen-A glittering mantle of rich golden notes: five ambers, soft myrtle and apple blossom, myrtle, and carnation.
I have high hopes for this one. Carnation first then the amber. What I'm guessing is the myrtle smells a whole lot like white lotus to me. It's very nice so far. Ends up slightly powdery after a bit but as always, I love the warmth of amber. (Later- powder gone, still a sweet amber)
Nosferatu-As soft as grave dust and as dry as a breath drawn within a long forgotten crypt, this is Nosferatu: desiccated herbs and gritty earth brought to life with a swell of robust and sanguineous red wines.
And now for something completely different.
phew. Definitely dusty and gritty. The red wine comes in at the very beginning of the sniff and at the very end but then goes kind of sour at the last. (Later- ..Berry?? o.0)
Obatala-Obatala’s ofrenda is soft, white and pure: milk, coconut meat, shea butter and cool, refreshing water.
Different than any other that I've gotten. The coconut is very wet and and strong. Just shy of suntan lotion and not quite cococut cream pie. This is yummy. (Later- Coconut is almost gone, mostly shea butter and milk. Very vanilla and sugar)
Scarecrow-The
scent of a hot wind blowing through desolate, scorched, barren fields.
Kind....of smells like a nail salon, at least reminiscent. Slight floral underneath in there somewhere, I swear. I could see singed flowers in this.(Dry. Not a harsh dryness, but mellow and apathetic)
