[Long ago in a distant, he had been sent into the future by a shapeshifting master of darkness. In a world ravaged by the shadowy being's rule and unspeakable evil, he had wandered, seeking to vanquish the demon and return to the past. And so, the warrior fought many battles against enemies great and small, strange and powerful, even the very ( Read more... )

[And here's an old man taking a walk around the village. He manages to recognize Jack through all of his newfound additions, and approaches him.

This venerable old man shares the gleam of a warrior in his eye; something they share in common. For now he merely observes King Jack and his demeanor... how has the Samurai changed?...]

[The king drew to a pause, the man approaching him seemingly a stranger, yet something felt very familiar about him. Could it be how he carried himself, that look to his eyes? He once was...no, is still a warrior. As the elderly man approached him, without hesitation, Jack bowed to him, deep enough to show respect for both an elder and a warrior of equal skill. As he spoke, the wear of time on his voice was evident, yet the soft calm of the voice was still clear as day:] Good day to you, sir.

[And perhaps surprisingly, Bruce returns the bow, as best he can given his age. He's just not as flexible as he used to be.]

And to you as well.

[As he rose from the bow, something about the man's reactions rang out in his mind, a detail of the past. Inquisitive, he asked:] Pardon my asking, but have we met before?

[ In Lightning's opinion, it's so intensely cold outside that... staying inside while it lasts? That sounds like a pretty good idea, especially since that would mean she could fully utilize the wide variety of blankets she's been collecting in her time here. On the other hand, even a single day spent without exercise is a sure recipe for quickly driving her out of her mind, and the journals just aren't enough entertainment by themselves to even come close to making her stay put. No, this pink-haired young fighter is definitely going out anyway, bundled up but ready to run, her gunblade holstered behind her in preparation for visiting the 'battle dome' at some point later ( ... )

[The winter air was a refreshing change of season for the warrior. Even though it brought some of his old wounds to ache, it meant the coming of the white snow. He walked down the stairs all but oblivious to the woman following him. He hummed a quiet tune under his breath, listening to the crunch of snow beneath his feet. It was when he heard a second set of steps that his senses rose out of their respite. Perhaps it was nothing, he thought to himself as he continued onward. However, his alertness did not fade and he felt an age-old readiness fill him once more.]

[ Lightning has just... never seen a person who looks like that- as far as she's concerned, there's no reason to ever not keep up a "nice" appearance if it can be helped; where's she from, even soldiers are always extremely well-groomed unless in the middle of something gone awry. She doubts he just got done with a battle inside the community building, so what is it? Is he unstable?

However, she knows better than to keep up something that could be mistaken as sneaking up on someone without cause- even if she knows she's being far from secretive, and figures just about anyone would be able to tell the same. Especially a man carrying a weapon.

But then again? She now kind of wants to keep an eye on him too. Conflicted, she frowns and stares at his back, her mind working furiously... and it's then that she recognizes him. They've never talked or probably even made eye contact before, but she has seen a person very similar to this, maybe once or twice back in the building or the surrounding area.

She has to know now. She just has to ( ... )

Hmm? [He drew to a halt, the one following him finally wanting to make herself known. Jack slowly turned to face her, not reaching for the hilt of the blade at his side nor showing any sign of anger or annoyance. Instead, his expression is very neutral, while his eyes observe her like a warrior before a potential duel.] Yes?
