wow! I guess www.monster.com is shaking in their boots right now;) I guess Frankensteins creation is going to have to change his name too to the entity composed of bits of the dead.

Stupid strongarming bullies! I hope they get anally violated with a broom for this retarded and greedy bullying!

well for me personally i can understand why monster cables would be upset about other companies using monster in their name. I mean monster cables have established themselves as one of the premier cable companies. I use them myself and don't think i've played on better guitar cable. So anyone who's played for a while knows that monster cables are very dependable. So if a younger less experienced musician is looking for advise on what cables they should use, they'll likely be recommended monster cables. And if ever cable company uses the word monster in it, then people are likely to get confused and buy the wrong cable. I see what you mean, and i don't think its' right to sue these small companies, but i also don't think it's right for the small companies to ride off of monster cable's success and steal some of it for themselves. just more to think about, i'll still use/buy monster cables...they're good for life.

see Chris, that's the thing...they DO NOT own the word Monster and by trademark laws are unable to LEGALLY sue for use of the name. They have established a mild reputation among uninformed musicians. (and please don't take this as me bashing on you, it is not my intention) Most people who have played on monsters know that they are NOT dependable. Monsters break more often that most other cords. The lifetime warranty is good, but the cables themselves leave alot to desire. As for the sound...any thicker guage cable will give you the same type of sound that a monster does. If I remember correctly, they use 8 or 10 guage wire rather than 10 or 12 guage which allows a small amount more current to pass through ( ... )

Okay I only glanced at the stories... but I'm gonna go ahead and comment on Monster Cables anyway. :)

In my mind, Monster Cable is synonymous with drastically overpriced gimmicky cables that MAY be reasonably high quality, but cost far more than equivalent cables from other manufacturers. They make cables that LOOK pretty, and then use technically ridiculous claims to sell them to consumers who don't know any better.

For example: Different guitar cables depending on whether you're playing rock or jazz. Are you kidding me? If the cable changes the sound that much, something is seriously wrong with the cable.

So I would probably never buy a Monster Cable anyway, and I already saw them as shady. This lawsuit thing just makes it worse.

On the other hand, the iCruze looks pretty cool. So who knows, they may make some decent products.

Also, it probably would be funny to see them try to go after monster.com... heh...
