So I worked the release, which was a lot of fun. Couldn't find my old McGonagall robes (resurected Snow White Queen costume) but my Naz graduation gown was a good stand in. Kids had great costumes and it really was a family event

I totally agree with you about Dobby's death reminding you of Oy. Both of those deaths bothered me a lot more than the deaths of some of the major characters in each respective series, and I surprised myself by bawling rather helpless over Dobby. I also found the manner in which Snape died to be rather...anticlimactic. I'd totally expected him to die, but I found his death to be about as worthy of his character as I did Martin's in the DT. Oh well, I guess they can't all be perfect ^_^
Hi, I love your icon. Made me think of another point: the idea of Voldemort cursing his name was a very good one. What amused me was when they were all caught in that manner at about p. 400 or so and the only question was how they'd escape from Malfoy Manner. Even if there were to be significant deaths, you knew there wasn't going to be another 300+ pages of book without the main characters. I was glad to see Dobby again because I'd forgotten what had become of him.
Totally agree about Martin/Snape. It seemed that Snape had the potential to be so much more but then her use of him just fizzled. I think the same was the case with the Malfoys: where was Lucius and Draco's legendary malefolence -- and Narcissa saving Harry in the end. It's not that I think people don't have any good in them, but rather where did this good come from?
I agree, the only death I really cared about was Snape, and even then, it was nothing compared to Dumbledore's. I was bawling my eyes out in HBP. I mean, I really liked all the characters that died, but Snape was the only one I really cared about. He had to die, though, and I like the way she handled it. But God, that epilogue was horrible.
I was just glad that they fully cleared Snape's name, so because of that, I was okay with his death. As for Fred, I like the twins, but let's face it, they were the most expendable, seeing as JKR never gave them any distinguishing characteristics, so you can kill one and still have a carbon copy left. I'm just glad she didn't kill Mr. Weasley off, which is what I read she intended to do. I love him. And he loves Muggles. So he loves me?
Someone said they think Tonks' mom raised Teddy. That sounds reasonable to me.

The deaths of Sirius and Dumbledore bothered me, Snape wasn't treated as welll I don't think. But Fred, Tonks... My question, who's raising Teddy?
