Often, I think, they're in charge because they're the scariest, the most capable of hurting others and the most willing to do so. Not always, but often enough to make little old ladies cautious about whom they hug.

At first I thought you were in VA (around here, that means Virginia)! And you know I would have had to hurt you if you'd come that close and not hugged me. Ruthless, that's me!
