Hugs that count

I was sitting in the  VA hospital waiting room across from a lady knitting a lap blanket for the veterans. We were talking about HugNation.com, Halcyon, the book he and I are working on together, and the idea behind 'The world would rather hug you than hurt you'. Often, I think, they're in charge because they're the scariest, the most capable of hurting others and the most willing to do so. Not always, but often enough to make little old ladies cautious about whom they hug.

At first I thought you were in VA (around here, that means Virginia)! And you know I would have had to hurt you if you'd come that close and not hugged me. Ruthless, that's me!
