after a flurry of 3 weeks of schneider guests, i find myself at the start of the first free, quiet, at-home weekend we have had in a month. and next week, i fly out to philly again

What's a good way to reach you- don't know if you heard, but I'm moving back to NOLA next week. I'll have a 16' truck with a trailer for the Audi, but where I really need your advice is what to do with Steve-cat. The truck will be limited to 60mph, so it's gonna be a hell of a long drive back, but since y'all have the most experience of anyone I know driving with cats cross-country...
you know, we just set things up so that it feels like the house shrank. We only did a truck cross-country once, and it was less comfy with 2 people, but with one, it should be ok. put the litterbox in the floorboard on the passenger side. bring him into the truck in the cat carrier and place it somewhere stable, but then prop the door open. he'll wander out, look around, and likely decide to go sit back in the carrier with the door open. we would feed them when we took our dinner break, because that was the meal where we went in and sat down, so the car was quiet. you can leave out some water, but its not likely he'll eat or drink when everything is so new

JJ, I don't know if this helps, but when I dragged Toulouse across country in a plane I had him doped up on kitten vicoden. The vet prescribed it and gave precise dosing instructions.
Wow, that sounds like my dad. It reminds me of those Amish barn raisings when he's around. Everything looks great! Though I have to laugh at your low light garden. What.the.hell??! Is the PNW not freakin' low light ENOUGH for you?!
ridiculous, isn't it? :) the new bathroom plan includes a window that looks out under the stairs, which was UGLY, so this is my answer to making sure our shower view is not offensive.
