... there is new Evangelion stuff?! I've barely managed to start watching the old stuff!! Clearly my to-watch list is doomed to be neverending omg.

Also, I managed to finally watch Inception this weekend! I was sort of distracted at the beginning because I was attempting to talk Yuletide, but hahaha that conversation got derailed pretty fast.

I selfishly want you to come play in A:TLA with me (because fix-it fic! and gaang shenanigans! and backstory and alternate scenarios and reconstruction and and and), but I'd be happy to read pretty much anything you write, so. ;) &hearts

Yeah! In addition to the original series + the movies, there's a new set of films out. The first couple follow/rework the old canon material, and then it starts going off into AWESOME NEW DIRECTIONS and reaches unmitigated levels of epic!

Hee, yay! How did you like it? (It's not my favourite movie ever, but it is quite good in many ways, and it makes for a great fandom jumping-off point.)

I really want to play in A:TLA, but for some reason even reading in that fandom seems strange to me. I have no idea why, because I love the source material and I want more stories. :( :(

Eeeeee! Why are all these awesome sources popping out with new material all over the place?!?! I DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY TO CATCH UP ON THE SHINY OMG. (Darker than Blaaaack, someday I will get back to you ;_____;)

Inception I mostly enjoyed for the team!factor, because I am predictable like that ahahahaha! SAITO AND ARIADNE, YOU ARE MY FAVORITES &hearts (and okay, Cobb would be a favorite too if he weren't so significantly fucked up.) Also the premise was nice chewy brain food that most movies these days are sadly lacking, so I appreciated that. :3 It's not my favorite movie either (my current bests are still Red Cliff and Pan's Labyrinth), but I can see how it makes for an awesome fandom playground!

Oh no, that is a dilemma! If reading any stories is weird... I dunno. D: Of course there are shiny vids for it (with more coming, hi White Lotus exchange! &hearts) if you haven't checked those out already, but that's a different kind of fan-space for sure.

Ahaha, yes you are. I love TEAM!!! stuff though. And I love Ariadne! And obviously I love Arthur and Eames, but there's actually so little basis in canon for where fandom has gone, which is bemusing but totally okay. My favourite part of Inception is the brain food aspect -- I mean, give an English major a text about dreams and s/he'll go wild with it. :D

Pan's Labyrinth is a thing of quiet, creepy beauty. What is Red Cliff?

I think I could maybe handle vids! Closer to the original source material. (I have this problem with certain TV fandoms, and not for others. No idea why.) Is there somewhere in particular I should go to find them? :)

Belatedly -- you are very welcome! :) Let me know if you ever get round to reading any of those books; there are never enough book discussions.

Call Me By Your Name ♥♥♥

Lena Headley ♥♥♥ Actually, one of my biggest disappointments of this year (or was it last year? I don't remember when it happened) was Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles getting cancelled because I loved that show. All the shows that I love get canceled. Hold me.

YOU SHARE MANY OF MY OBSCURE TASTES AND NICHE FAVOURITES AND I LOVE IT. ♥ ♥ ♥

Have you watched Imagine Me and You? If not, I highly recommend it! Lena Headey is not at all like Sarah Connor in it, but there are girls kissing and happy ending and it is one of my favourite things. :)

*holds you*
I'm almost afraid to fall in love with new shows now because they end up cancelled within a year. I'm like a death curse. It's very sad.

Imagine Me and You is on my list of things to watch! It seems like the kind of movie I would like (yay for girls kissing and happy endings!) but I am really bad at getting around to watching things, so expect me to see it sometime in 2030, hahaha.

YOU HAVE EXCELLENT TASTE, WHAT CAN I SAY.

I am awful at watching things, too, unless I get addicted to a TV show. Movies sit around unwatched on my computer for ages -- I'm trying to watch all of JGL's movies, and even my love for the boy cannot motivate me. I'll trade you! If you watch Imagine Me and You I'll watch something that you pick. :D

omg, you also watched Veronica Mars? And you managed to not post OMG SO GOOD I LOVE THIS every few seconds? You're far a stronger person than I am, haha.

AND GENE THE COW, RIGHT? YOU LOVE HER TOO? :D I love this show so much. Everyone is such a rounded character and I mock heavily the people that bitched at Anna Torv's 'wooden' acting in S1. AHAHA. Olivia seriously owns my heart. She's so strong and capable and vulnerable at the same time and she is the girl that rescues herself. ♥ And I really really like Olivia/Peter. And it's gotten so twisty and interesting as of lately, oh my. I have to admit I was really into Olivia/John at the beginning, because I'm a sap like that (and because he'll always be the Captain America in my head and Olivia/Cap would be hot, thnx).

Season 3 has been, oh man. *hands* The episodes in blue episode have been fantastic as well, but the Over There ones have been something else entirely. THE LOVE.

ALSO, so how different are the new Evangelion movies to the series? I found it very strange that they were redoing it, and then heard that it was not exactly the same, and now I'm confused. Are the changes for the better? I'm not sure it needed changing, apart from that horrible soul-sucking final movie after which I felt that I would never smile again. That's how depressing it was.

It's more like a branching-off than a total rewrite? I forget how many new movies there are/there are planned because I watched what's out so far in one go, with friends, but -- the first movie or two is/are a remake of the first bit of the original series; after that it goes in an entirely different direction. If that makes any sense. There's a new main Eva pilot and everything.

I like the changes personally! They've tightened up the writing a lot and ramped up the epic, which is always a good thing. I'm looking forward to more. :D

I didn't actually watch the original wrap-up movies that came out after the series, which -- according to some of what I've heard -- is a good thing?

This entire post!! I mean, just, all of the best fandoms. Oh Sherlock and Fringe and Inception, what have you done to me. I really need to get back on Caprica. :( I think I'm in denial and I refuse to believe that it was cancelled. I've downloaded your songs zip and I am incredibly excited! I've been stuck on the Ellie Goulding/Erik Hassle song for weeks now. ugh best part of my life, downloading that album. Definitely on my top albums 2010 list just for the sheer amount of adoration I have for it. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Olivia Dunham, omg! And now I'm on S3, actually. :D I was so determined to finish everything by this Friday (I'm so close! I'm downloading 3.06 now) but alas, it doesn't air for a while yet. I am completely obsessed with Peter/Olivia because actually. I just changed my desktop to a Peter/Olivia wallpaper I saved before I watched Fringe, haha ( ... )

asdf;asdlfk you are already on season three?! \o/ Last time I talked to you, you were still in season one! Fringe is that kind of show though, hey? Everyone I know who started watching it late just marathoned it. PETER/OLIVIA PETER/OLIVIA PETER/OLIVIA. It's so rare that a television show actually writes a pairing in a way that I like so much. *clings* I love Lincoln too! And having Charlie again! I need alternate universe episodes forever -- their close-knit team of three just makes me smile forever.

And yes -- Sherlock and Fringe and Inception! ♥ I want to read fic in all three fandoms forever. And maybe try writing them, too. Writing Sherlock fic is an incredibly daunting task, but it would be fun to write about Astrid and Walter shenanigans!

... Caprica ...
*cries*
*cries some more*
I have two episodes left, but I've been afraid to watch them, because once I do the show will be over forever. :( Definitely do get back to it, though! The second half of the season consistently blew me out of the water.

hahahhaha I am! I just watched two or three episodes some days, an episode here and there, and before I knew it I was freaking out over the S2 finale (!!!!!!!!) and I was at season 3. :D I wanted to get caught up before it started up again, but I actually have two (three?) more weeks instead of just this Friday, welp. OMG THOSE TWO. This is my new wallpaper! I was watching "Brown Betty" with my roommate because we suck each other in the other's shows (mwahah) and there's Peter/Olivia and she was like, are they a couple? And I was like, yeah, no, it's awesome, idk. I adore them so much. I usually hate will they or won't they sort of tactics but those two! I have no words. ajsdkl;fj I completely adore the alt!trio. Though obviously I am kind of :|||| on Altlivia though I know it's just so easy to be that way, so I am attempting to process my thoughts on her. I refuse to hate her.

I haven't read any fic in those fandoms except for yours. :3 Oh oh oh I've read one Sherlock fic, it's amazing so far, at rosa_acicularis. om nom. Oh goodness it would be. ( ... )

That is a very awesome desktop! <3 And OMG BROWN BETTY -- I have watched that straight through three times by now, plus re-watching snippets, and it's honestly my favourite episode. I have a thing for the Chandleresque, and combining it with the Pushing Daisies-like fairytale atmosphere and the frame story of Walter-on-drugs just makes it perfect. Peter stole Walter's heart, I cannot get over it!

I feel exactly the same way about Altlivia -- it's so easy to hate her, but there's much more to her than that. Interestingly we never actually get to know Altlivia; we get to see Altlivia-as-Olivia, and Olivia-thinking-she's-Altlivia, but never Altlivia-as-Altlivia, if that makes any sense.

I cannot get over how gorgeous Jasika Nicole is.

They are all fandoms full of good fics! If you ever need recs I will give you some, but if you would rather not have them eat your life I can understand that too. :D

Oh, Merlin. :( I still haven't decided whether or not to watch S3 yet -- would marathoning it dull the pain? Is it worth the pain? I ( ... )
